Drunk Tuesday: High End ~ V.I.P. ~ Exclusive

It's hardly begun, but what a week we've had already. Sunday night's Golden Globes saw Richard Linklater's 12-year undertaking Boyhood walking away the big prize. For a few hours there we were all united in admiring Chrissy Teigen cry face, contemplating Jared Leto's modern man-braid, and beating that Amal is Too Good for George dead horse just a little bit more.

In other (breaking) news Zooey Deschanel announced that she is expecting her first child, which we expect to pop out a sporting a printed pussybow blouse.

Most importantly, the final season of Parks and Recreation premieres tonight on NBC. What could be better than a little Snake Juice to facilitate simultaneous celebration of new episodes and tears in our popcorn over what is truly the end of an era? Our beloved Tom Haverford describes the Snakehole Lounge's signature beverage as "a bunch of alcohol" mixed together with sugar, coffee, "and some other junk...and it kind of tastes like Kahlua."

You could always try your hand at making your own snake juice. We suggest coffee, rum, vodka, and brown sugar. If you come to master the basic recipe you might take it a step further and make a more complex cocktail as suggested Snakehole Lounge mixologists themselves:

SLITHERY RUSSIAN

This tastes like if a hot Russian spy and a badass snake got it on... in a world where fictional woman-on-snake hookups were pleasing, and could somehow be served over ice.

1 oz SnakeJuice
1 oz vodka
1 oz cream
Splash of Sweetums High-Fructose Corn Syrup
1/4 cup of ice

Combine ingredients and shake well. Sip slowly and slither over to your prey.

Enjoy

Drunk Tuesday: The Return of French Toast Crunch

source

In case you missed the most important story of the week

FRENCH
TOAST
CRUNCH
IS
BACK

In a press release on December 5th, General Mills announced that the beloved 1990s cereal French Toast Crunch has already begun making its long awaited return. The cereal was introduced to the market in 1995 and tragically discontinued in 2006. The product is already available in select stores, and will be widely distributed come January.

If you're not already planning a French Toast Crunch Brunch™ then you probably ought to reevaluate your priorities. To get you started, we've provided you with a pear and sparkling cider cocktail recipe via Martha Stewart

source
  • 2 cups pear nectar, chilled
  • 2 cups sparkling apple cider, chilled
  • 2 cups seltzer, chilled
  • 4 ounces (1/2 cup) bourbon whiskey, such as Knob Creek
  • 1 Bosc pear, unpeeled, cored, and cut lengthwise into 8 wedges
  • Stir together pear nectar, cider, seltzer, and whiskey in a pitcher. Divide pear wedges among glasses, and pour in cocktail. Serve immediately.

Happy Tuesday to all, and to all a good night.

Drunk Tuesday: David Beckham, Annie, & Red Wine Hot Chocolate

This week's cocktail comes from Kylie at Yeah...immaeatthat. We scoured the internet for a drink fit for the cold weather and when we came across her red wine hot chocolate recipe, we just couldn't pass it up.

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chunks
  • Optional: coconut whipped cream

Instructions:

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk and chocolate chips. Whisking constantly until chocolate is melted into milk and you have a thick and creamy chocolate milk. Pour in red wine and heat until everything is hot. Pour into 2 mugs or 6-8 smaller glasses and top with coconut whipped cream.

Drink up and read on for this week's topical gossip.
